I am a homebody, with the exception of my children's various sports. I work-from-home, and have ample opportunity to spend time with your pet(s). On an average day, I wake at 7am, I homeschool the kids, take a walk, relax, cook dinner, and then head out to one of the children’s extracurriculars for about two hours. However, on days I am hosting a pet, I often allocate others to take my kids to activities. If I go out for lunch or shopping, I will not leave an animal unattended for more than 2 hours under my care.

I am happy to follow your lead with how you’d prefer me to care for your pet. I have had families prefer their dog sleep at the foot of my bed, and other families have said they prefer their pet to roam or be crated overnight. Every family is different and I will honor all of your preferences. Nothing is trivial when it comes to your sweet pets. I have a fenced in backyard, but even so, I insist on monitoring dogs by accompanying them outdoors. If I am pet-sitting at your place, the same concept applies: I will do whatever makes you most comfortable.

I am not knowledgeable with formerly-aggressive (rehabbed) dogs , nor puppies under 6 months. I’m also inexperienced with special needs dogs. If you’re in a bind, I am capable, but I just want to be transparent. If there is anything you would tell a new vet about your pet, that is what I prefer you tell me. I want to know anything important so that I can truly provide the best possible, loving care.
A typical day
I enjoy quality time, such as playing, engaging with their favorite activities, running around the backyard, and going for walks as needed. Some pets prefer space, while others want to join me on the couch. Again, I am open to your preferences, but I treat your pet as I would want my own treated!

I am the ultimate cat lady. I said it! I am a work-from-home, homeschool mom, that happens to love animals! In fact, I’m a mother to an aspiring young vet! I have fostered many cats in the past, and I always get attached. Additionally, I’ve hosted cats in my home for family members and also a few from members of our church. But, I’ve just recently learned about Rover! I (Amy) will be the sole caretaker of your kitty, though my own family will be here and my boys would love to play and cuddle your cat(s) if that’s what your furry loved ones enjoy. I’m accustomed to administering medicine if that is a concern. I have never had a problem with my cat’s demeanor, however, if your pet is uncomfortable I have plans for her to rotate through the children’s rooms and basement to maintain space if necessary while your pet (or pets) is here. I have been a pet sitter off and on for over 30 years and have experience with kittens, as well as senior cats.

Amy and her family are amazing with our boy kitty Jade. He was recently diagnosed with a stress disorder but with her updates we knew he was as happy and relaxed as could be. He’s so loved and well cared for by them that we know he’s in the safest hands he could be while we’re away. ❤️
Amy was hospitable, accommodating, and quick to communicate. My kitty loved her staycation and I know she was well-loved!
Amy was a dream cat sitter! She sent nightly updates that eased our worries. We were also comforted upon meeting her by her knowledge of pet care and by her calm, caring demeanor. It’s clear that her and her family have a genuine love for animals. Plus they seemed to really have enjoyed their time with our little boy and that made us very happy to hear. Will definitely be booking again!
