Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I've recently relocated to Brighton from Canada and I am currently in between jobs, which means I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for pets. I am able to plan my days around feeding schedules, visits, playtime, and any special care needs. Because of this flexibility, I can give pets my full attention and keep their routines as consistent and stress-free as possible. Whether it's regular check-ins, extended visits, or spending extra time with pets who enjoy companionship, I love making pet care a central part of my week.

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a pet owner's home, my main goal is to keep things calm, safe, and familiar. I take time to learn each pet's routine, preferences, and boundaries so I can follow their normal schedule as closely as possible and help them feel comfortable while their owner is away. I am very mindful about safety and control in the home - making sure doors and windows are secure, food and medications are handled properly, and pets remain in safe, designated areas. I respect both the pet's space and the owner's home, and I treat it with care and responsibility. My approach is gentle and attentive, and I adjust to each pet's personality and needs, whether that means active playtime, quiet companionship, or simply being a calm presence nearby. I am comfortable administering medications, monitoring behaviour and health, and keeping owners updated so they feel reassured and informed. Overall, I aim to create a peaceful, consistent environment where pets feel secure in their own home and owners can feel confident their pets are in safe, caring hands.
Information Charlotte P. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for a pet, I like to learn as much as possible to make sure they feel comfortable and safe. This includes their personality, daily routine, favourite activities, feeding schedule, and any boundaries they may have. I also appreciate knowing about any medical needs, medications, allergies, or special care instructions, as well as where pets like to hide or relax if they need quiet time. For dogs, it is especially helpful to know their temperament, friendliness with people and other animals, recall skills, leash behaviour, and whether they're reactive or have any fears (such as loud noises or traffic.) I also ask about preferred walking routes, favourite spots, and any equipment they need to feel safe (e.g. specific harnesses, leads, or muzzles.) This is to make sure each dog feels supported, confident, and comfortable on walks. Knowing their recall, walking style, and preferred equipment allows me to choose routes, pace, and activities that suit them best. Their comfort and emotional well-being on a walk is always my first priority. For cats and small animals, I like to know how social they are, how they prefer to be handled (or if they prefer space), litter habits, and any routines that help them feel secure. Knowing their favourite toys, treats, and comfort spots is always helpful too. I also ask owners to share emergency contact details and vet information so there is a clear plan in place if anything unexpected happens. It is important to know who their vet is, whether the clinic is aware the owner is away, and whether I have permission to bring the pet in (if needed.) Having this information ahead of time means I can act quickly and calmly in an emergency, with the pet's best interests at heart. I understand that some of these details may appear small but they make a big difference. The more I know, the better I can provide gentle, thoughtful care and help pets feel safe, understood, and well cared for while their owners are away.
A typical day
A typical day is always shaped around what each pet enjoys most. I start by checking in on them - fresh food and water, medications if needed, and a quick health and mood check - then follow their usual routine as closely as possible. Activities are completely tailored to each pet's personality and preferences. For dogs, that might mean walks to their favourite places, whether that's a local park or the beach, as well as playtime and enrichment. For cats and smaller pets, it could be interactive play with their favourite toys, puzzle feeders, gentle brushing, or simply quiet companionship and reassurance. I am always happy to adjust activities based on energy levels, age, and personality. Throughout the day, I pay close attention to energy levels and comfort, adjusting activities as needed and always respecting boundaries. I provide lots of gentle attention, reassurance, and check-ins while allowing pets to relax in their own space. I also keep living spaces clean and comfortable, and I am happy to share updates so owners know their pets are happy and enjoying their time. Above all, my goal is to make each day feel familiar, fun, and stress-free, so pets feel happy and secure and owners can feel confident their pets are being well cared for.

Trusted Cat Care & Cuddles
Cat care experience
I've been a cat lover my whole life, growing up with cats and caring for them every day. Over the years, I've also cared for cats in family, friends, and neighbours' homes, including senior kitties and those with special needs (such as diabetic cats who required insulin injections.) This experience has taught me how to administer medications safely, monitor pets closely, and provide gentle, attentive care tailored to each cat's personality and needs. As a teenager, I volunteered at my local animal shelter, where I spent lots of time caring for cats - feeding them, cleaning, and giving them attention to help them feel comfortable and loved. That experience taught me a lot about different cat personalities and how to help shy or anxious kitties feel safe. In 2025, I spent four months working at the front desk of a veterinary clinic which gave me professional insight into cat health and behaviour, communication with owners, and how to handle cats who may be shy, anxious, or have medical requirements. I am calm, patient, and love giving cats the attention, play, and cuddles while their owners are away. I combine lifelong cat experience, shelter volunteering, and professional veterinary exposure with a genuine passion for their well-being. I treat every cat as if they were my own, and I am excited to provide a loving, stress-free home-away-from-home. I am also planning on studying veterinary medicine so caring for cats is not just something I enjoy - it is a pathway I am truly passionate about.
Reviews
Charlotte is friendly, professional and trustworthy. I would recommend her services to anyone wanting a dog walking or sitting service. Charlotte sat with 3 dogs of very different temprements and handled them all well.
