Hello, my names Claire and I have a lifelong love for cats! I’m currently a senior member of staff at a Cats Protection Adoption Centre, meaning caring for a range of cats is part of my day to day life. As well as growing up with cats of my own and pet-sitting for friends and family, I have a BSc in Zoo Biology. I also have previous experience in a vets, as well as at the RSPCA. At my current job I give medication to cats on a daily basis, as well as performing health checks and managing a variety of different ages and behaviours. I have cared for cats with a range of conditions including epilepsy, hyperthyroidism and diabetes. I have given insulin injections to even the wriggliest of cats! At work I have a particular love for cats that others may see as ‘difficult’ and spend time watching their body language and working with them to understand their behaviour. I have also handreared newborn kittens, which required around the clock care. It was definitely worth it to get to watch them grow into healthy young cats.
