Hi! I’m Iona, a 29 year old Civil Servant living in Walthamstow. I’ve been cat sitting since I moved to London in 2022 as I honestly just love cats and want to meet them all! I grew up with cats, and always had at least two in the family. My parents’ cats when I was born became my first ever best friends, Pinky, Perky, and Suki. Later on when Pinky and Perky had passed we adopted Romeo and Tiger-Lily from the Cats Protection League, and later Lois from Battersea Cats and Dogs. A couple of years ago my partner and I adopted Hugo, a kitten that was born when our friends adopted a stray. My first ever job was at a cattery, where I started volunteering when I was 14 but then was offered a paid role not long after. I worked there as a general assistant for almost 3 years, cleaning cat pens, feeding and grooming them, and socialising the ones that had been rescued - as the cattery was both a private cat hotel and a charity to adopt cats from. I cared for ill cats too, of all ages, and was trained to administer their medicine and am not squeamish about any mess made or clearing it up! I’m also DBS checked and have Government Security Clearance check through work - if that helps ease your mind that I’m trustworthy and caring.
