I'm originally from America and now happily settled in the UK. (I grew up shovelling snow in upstate New York, so mild English winters are a dream come true!) I'm a science communicator, basically the "cool aunt" of teaching. I support scientists to lead events and open their research to the general public- think street festivals and citizen science projects. My first word was "cat", so I've been a cat lady for quite a long time. My family always had indoor-outdoor cats so I learned to take care of them growing up. I'm familiar with removing "presents" and hairballs, giving pills and liquid medication, cleaning wounds (though fixed, our cats were quite territorial), applying anti-flea treatments and giving baths (one cat never did learn to leave skunks alone!). I'm also very good at brushing and trimming claws, and have helped friends with their feisty felines. I'm now the proud mama of 2 tabbies who rule my house with an iron paw. City girls at heart, they love watching the world through the windows and enjoy a bit of sun in the back garden. Yes I have spoiled furry divas!
