About Me
Your cat sitter in the Didsbury area
My name is Otilia 😀 Before anything else, I am a cat lover. I have a teaching background, but switched careers to nursing. I have practised nursing in USA and now UK (DBS checks done). I have recently transitioned to a work from home position in nursing informatics which gives me greater flexibility and availability to cat sit.
So far, I had the opportunity to enjoy life in 3 different countries: Romania, USA and now UK.
I have two great loves and we've been sharing life and making memories together over the last 15 years. They are my 2 cats: Ana and Hugo ❤️🐈❤️🐈⬛. I adopted them as kittens from an animal shelter. Ana is very shy and skittish and Hugo is boisterous and always up to something 😆
In the middle of the pandemic I moved from USA to UK. Needless to say, the move was difficult and I had to jump through nearly impossible hoops to bring my fur babies with me. However, they are family and I do not leave family behind when times get hard. I made a promise when I adopted them, the promise of a good life in the most loving environment. They are now living their best life here in UK 😀
Cats are such a fascination to me, I even created an Instagram page called UK_street_cats (feel free to have a look). I found myself snapping a photo (or five 😆) each time I was meeting a cat on the street and when my phone ran out of storage space, I decided to create an Instagram page dedicated to all cats 🐈 which now has hundreds of photos.
If you want to see my two cats and learn more about us, you can find my page "Meows and Purrs" on Facebook.
I live in West Didsbury and I am happy to cover the Didsbury area and close surroundings.
I always do a home visit (meet and greet) before accepting a job. This will provide an opportunity to meet, ask questions and discuss details. There will be no commitments at this point (this is a free of charge visit). If you decide you want to keep on looking, that is absolutely fine. As a cat mom myself, I know how important it is to find the purrfect (pun intended 😉) sitter for our felines.
I will tailor my visits according to your cat's needs. I am happy to feed your beloved feline, give treats, play/cuddle, clean the litter. The CIAF website indicates a minimum of 20 minutes per visit. Cats need sufficient attention and companionship time and 20 minutes falls way under that standard. I will stay a minimum of 35-40 min, but often longer. Your cat will be well looked after, I promise. When able, I have done extra visits (free of charge) because your cat's wellbeing is my priority and going an extra mile is something that any truly invested cat sitter would do.
I will send you many pictures and videos taken during each visit, unless you prefer otherwise.
I can do other small tasks as needed (pick up mail, water plants, etc). I will also treat your home with respect. I want to keep your cat(s) happy in your absence 🙂
I look forward to meeting you and your lovely feline(s) ✨️
