About Me
Picture Purrfect Cat-Sitting
I'm a fine art photographer who stumbled into cat- and house-sitting for friends in September 2021.
Subsequently, I've cat-sat 41 kittehs across 28 homes, ranging in age from 14 weeks to 17 years old. Most have been multiple kitteh homes with 2-4 cats, and all have asked me back or expressed interest in future bookings.
As I grew up with dogs and hadn't lived with cats until I started cat-sitting, it's been a (sometimes steep) learning curve, but an enjoyable and rewarding journey becoming a cat-sitter.
How can I help you and your kitteh(s)?
As a remote worker working flexible hours, I can spend quality time with your kitteh(s) when it suits them.
Every cat I've cared for has a distinct personality. I've enjoyed getting to know and bonding with each one.
My experience has predominantly been overnight stays, from three nights to three weeks. Some within my postcode (N8). Others as far afield as Minera, Delamere, Cotton End, Leighton Buzzard and Bishop's Stortford.
I'm more than happy to discuss overnight stays further afield, but that may not allow for a face-to-face meet-and-greet ahead of the booking. I'm currently working remotely, so I can work from anywhere as long as I have access to a reliable internet connection.
I'm happy to visit your kitteh(s) once or twice daily if they're closer to my home, ideally within 1 km, as I don't drive, e.g., N8 (Hornsey, Crouch End, Alexandra Palace), N22 (Wood Green, Bounds Green, Bowes Park) and N15 (Tottenham).
Unless it's not possible due to distance, I will always arrange a free meet and greet with you and your kitteh(s) before the first booking.
I keep the lines of communication open. Regularly sending updates, photos and videos of your bundle(s) of floof so you can be assured of their safety and happiness while you're away.
Along with ensuring your kitteh is fed and watered, and regularly cleaning their food bowls and litter trays, I enjoy evenings on the sofa with them. Giving scritches and treats (if permitted). Playing games with them if they're playful. Spending time with them in the garden (if you have one) and capturing them with my camera and iPhone as though I were their personal paparazzi.
I'm also okay with the less favourable aspects, such as cleaning up after them if they've been poorly or had a hairball incident. Or relocating or disposing of any unfortunate rodents they may have slain and brought to me as a gift.
I've had some experience with administering medication to kittehs. And I spent about two hours de-matting the hair of one of my regulars, Lily, who took a temporary hiatus from her personal grooming in 2022.
I'm also happy to discuss additional duties as part of daily visits or overnight stays, including:
-
feeding your fish
-
watering plants and/or your garden
-
sitting and walking your doggo if you have a mixed pet household (I've sat nine doggos across seven households, two of which were cat-dog-fish houses, and I used to regularly sit a Frenchie for a day at a time in my own home), and
-
caring for other small pets or birds (I've sat two peacocks and seven chickens, and my most regular client added a hamster to her menagerie in 2024), but I would need full instructions and guidance beforehand.
Feel free to message me with any questions you may have. I'm happy to provide additional testimonials and references from my existing clients outside CatInAFlat.
I look forward to making new kitteh friends!
A testimonial from one of my regular clients outside of CIAF, whose pets I've been sitting for four years:
Looking for a cat sitter (or sitter of any pet, for that matter) is stressful. I should know – I've been doing it for probably 15 years. For almost a year, however, I've stopped looking. That's how long Bronwen has looked after my cats.
Bronwen understands that cats can be as uniquely quirky as their owners, and she totally respects that.
She tries to make friends with all the cats she looks after – as opposed to merely accepting the role of staff – within the bounds of what the cats are comfortable with.
Bronwen conscientiously follows any instructions given and always puts the cats first during her stay.
She is extremely respectful of other people's property. If it wasn't for the regular updates she sends, you'd hardly know she was even there.
I can't recommend her highly enough.
