I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life — from fish, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, hedgehogs and dogs to a bearded dragon — but cats have always had my heart. I currently have three of my own: two female British Shorthairs and one mischievous black domestic boy. They absolutely rule the house and keep me firmly on their schedule, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Working for the NHS can be incredibly stressful, so caring for animals is my calm before and after work. Spending time with pets grounds me, relaxes me, and brings so much joy into my day. I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, loved, and well looked after when you’re away, and I treat every animal with the same care and affection I give my own.
