I work full time so morning visits are usually before 8:30 in the morning will be 30mins approximately and the aim is to make sure the kitties are well are fed and fussed over and have everything they need for the day ahead (clean litter, food, water, treats, play spaces and a cat-safe space).. Afternoon or evening visits are much more flexible and to be honest thisnis where I will take my time with them the most. First I make sure we say hello and kitties get all the fusses and strokes they need and I usually throw in a few treats here for positive reinforcement. Then tend to prioritise food, water, medication of there is any, litter tray to give them a bit of space after the stimulation of greeting me into their space and they get to see how I move around so they can suss me out too and know they are safe. And then we play until they decide it's time to stop and I'll leave when they show me signs they are relaxed, happy and settling down again. This may take up to an hour sometimes depending on the cat(s).

We have made our home very cat friendly. We have a cat tree, cat tower, tunnels and play mats that we rotate for our 2 cats and tunnels... 2 noisy, rustly tunnels that take up so much space but the cats adore so they stay. We sometimes wonder who's house it is, ours or the cats hehe! They have doughnuts, mats and cat caves to curl up in. They also love the windowsills which are theirs too and of course our furniture belongs to them as well 😻
Information Lauren W. would like to know about your pet
It always helps if you let me know a bit about your cat's personality, any quirky things they do that is normal for them. I love to know what their favourite toys or treats are, where are their hiding spaces and how best to recall them if needed. Obviously vet and health information is important too and knowing if they are up to date with their vaccinations, flea/dewormer treatment also handy to know too. Finally if you have specific feeding times and if you have multiple cat's, its always great to know how they get along (or not).
A typical day
Wand toys, chasing dreamies or treats or spring toys across the room, tunnels play or games with pieces of string are some of the games I will play with them. I always ask what their favourite toy is and how they like to play too and I will try to replicate that with them. If all fails I at least try to make some interesting scratchy or gentle tapping sounds to grab their attention and give them some stimulation that way. If anything they just watch me play and entertain them.

A friendly and reliable sitter
Cat care experience
Hi, I'm Lauren. I've always loved animals. I was raised by a pet loving family and I am a cat mama to senior lady of our household Katsu (aka Madame Floof) and little Nyxie (aka Miss Nyxie Noodle) who joined our family last year. I have always been a dog person, until I got my own cats and now I see just how incredible these animals are and I wear my cat lady badge with pride and still love our dog friends at the same time. I have years of experience with caring for pet cats, dogs, hamsters even a pet hedgehog and I love it for some many reasons. Firstly, I'm an animal welfare advocate. It's important that the cats welbeing comes first and I take great pleasure in doing what I can to make sure our felines are as stress free as possible and if we can even get them to feel comfortable enough for play time, treats and some fusses then that's what I akm for. Personally, I am never fully ok with leaving our kitties when we go on holiday, so I thoroughly understand how important it is to know that your pet is well cared for and the importance of getting regular updates from your cat sitter whilst you're away. Having that peace of mind matters. My visits always last at least 30-45mins but to be honest, if needed I stay longer until I get the cats cue that they are fed, comfortable and happy so I will adapt to their needs. I will also send you lots of updates at each visit with a mix of photos and videos so you can see if they are demonstrating usual behaviour (you know them best). I am comfortable administering medication and I will also be happy to help with additional jobs you need doing whilst away (i.e.: plant care, taking bins in/out, post, lights on/off, opening and closing curtains etc...). But really, overall, I'm adaptable and I take my time to understand your and your pets needs. I will do my best to keep them well, happy and stimulated, and I will keep you posted throughout. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Reviews

Lauren has been absolutely fantastic. She's taken extremely good care of my cat, sent loads of photos and videos to show me how he's doing and overall been really reassuring - which was exactly what I needed as it's the first time I've left my cat for more than a day! Big thanks, Lauren!

Lauren was a literal god-send. You can tell when someone loves animals and that would be Lauren for you. She took the time to get to know my cat, she befriended her so quickly which was an absolute shocker. She sent a lot of long, descriptive and reassuring videos, pictures and messages throughout her visits, she really went above and beyond in every way possible. Forever appreciative!!!
Fantastic cat sitting. Lauren looked after my two elderly cats both on medication while I was away. She made friends with them both so quickly, even the very shy one who normally takes days to warm up to anyone. It’s very rare to find someone that understands cats so well. It’s was also a joy to receive the updates and photos. I would thoroughly recommend her.

Once again Bobby has loved having Lauren come and see to his every need! I think Lauren could write a book about her cat sitting experiences, the updates she sends are detailed and entertaining and she takes some brilliant photos/videos, all very reassuring to see. Very amenable, quick to respond with and such a fellow cat person, I know Bobby is in safe hands. Thanks Lauren, we’ll see you later 😽
