My Uni schedule varies each week but I will aim to keep my calendar as updated as possible. I am keen to build a base of regular/semi-regular clients, having recently moved back to North Somerset. There are times when I am required on-campus 9am-5pm but I do my best to be flexible. Do get in touch if there's anything you'd like to discuss - I'm more than happy to answer any queries 😁

About Rebecca G.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
I am always careful entering and exiting the house to prevent any escapes. I diligently use any equipment or restraint advised by owners to keep everyone safe. I always do my best to read an animals behaviour so as not to cross their boundaries and ensure everyone is as safe and happy as possible during the visit. I welcome owner advice about individual pets as they usually know their animal best!

Information Rebecca G. would like to know about your pet
It would be great to know a bit about your pets personality when you first get in contact! It’s always good to know how they feel about people and other dogs or whether they have any behavioural issues. I am comfortable administering medication with accurate instruction beforehand. Please let me know your expectations around time alone and exercise. For care in my home please let me know whether they are house trained and whether they have stayed in a sitter’s home before.
A typical day
I am happy to adapt my routine to the individual pet and their needs. I am able to do a good deal of remote learning, so I am very happy to hang out at home and keep pets company in their own space, including getting some fresh air in the garden. I always make sure they get enough exercise each day, usually with a combination of play in the garden and going out on a decent walk. I won’t be able to do any massively strenuous hikes or hours of walking, so if your pet is particularly high activity and/or strong I may not be the best match. There are times when I am required to spend the full day on campus but I will let you know if this is the case

Vet Student Looking for Kitty Love!
Cat care experience
Hey there, my name is Rebecca! I'm a 26 year old vet student and pet sitter. I have lots of great experience with a variety of animals, from small furries, cats and dogs, horses, to sheep and cattle through my vet training and life in general! I have been involved in the cattery of the Galway SPCA, where I cared for cats from all backgrounds. This experience MAY have shifted me closer to the “cat-person” end of the spectrum! It really opened my eyes to the individuality of cats - how fun (and funny!), curious (and cautious!), observant (and vivacious!) they can be. I learned a lot about reading their behaviour and feel that I can effectively fulfil their needs as a result. In the past year I have also built up a regular cat-visit client base, where I eventually managed to win over a couple of cranky cats and always enjoyed their company. I would be keen to build a trusting relationship with any pet I care for and strive for respectful and honest communication with pet owners. I spend 30 minutes with pets for a house visit and walks but can do longer on request. I give them my full attention during this time and aim to leave them tuckered out but happy if that’s appropriate for that cat. I also know when to leave them to their own devices! I send a detailed update after my visit including some photos so you can see how they're getting on. I'm always careful to include any concerns. My Uni schedule varies each week but I will aim to keep my calendar as updated as possible. I am keen to build a base of regular/semi-regular clients, having recently moved back to North Somerset. I prefer to keep house sitting limited to one week in length but am open to considering longer stays, depending on the situation. There are also times when I am required on-campus 9am-5pm, so please consider whether this will suit your individual pet. Do get in touch if there's anything you'd like to discuss - I'm more than happy to answer any queries 😁
Reviews

We asked Rebecca to look after our cat Llama while we were away for a few days. She came over a few weeks before hand to meet Llama which was great and it gave us the chance to prep Rebecca for the weekend. While we were away, Rebecca kept us posted regularly and sent us a few photos of the cat, which we really appreciated! We will absolutely be booking Rebecca again in the future! 😊
