Reliable and experienced cat-sitter in Portobello and beyond!

My name is Viki. I am a student in Edinburgh.

I have had cats since I have been five. My first cat is called Cherry, she is currently 18 and still with us! She is a tortoiseshell. Since getting Cherry I have also had Fusa, who was a non-pedigree rescue and died of old age at 15, Pippin who was a Norwegian forest cat who died of a genetical heart defect at the age of 8, Nara who is a non-pedigree and a British shorthair called Tommy, both of whom are alive right now.

In 2018 I took care of 5 newborn kittens and nursed them, waking up every 2 hours every night to feed them. Caring for them included proper feeding, de-worming and looking out for their safety.

Apart from that, since childhood my family back home in Poland has been very involved in animal activism and have nursed plenty of homeless cats to health, sterilised them, and then rehomed them.

My home has never been cat-less, I am well-informed on cats' needs instinctually from being around them most of my life, including understanding their body language. With my university course being very flexible at the moment, I have plenty of time on my hands for cat-sitting! :)

I am happy to offer services that include both short visits and longer stays. I am also happy to do overnight stays. The priority is the cat and their happiness and wellbeing, so if your cat is extra anxious while you are away I would be delighted to keep them some company :)

I have over 15 years of experience in taking care of cats - old cats, kittens, as well as newborns. pure breeds, non-pedigrees as well as cross-breeds. I am happy to feed them, clean out their litter, play with them and simply keep them company.

I have had a lot of experience in administrating medicine, such as painkillers, antibiotics and de-worming cats (newborn kittens too) so I will most likely be comfortable enough to do so. If you require such services, please send me a message beforehand of the requirement and I will let you know if I have experience in that specific area.

Additionally, I have experience with rodents, specifically hamsters and guinea pigs. Guinea pigs in particular, I have had a rescue for a long time that came to me with a lot of trauma from his previous owner and I managed to give him a good and comfortable life.
