About Me

Belper Veterinary Nurse Cat Sitting Service

Hi there! Welcome to my profile. My name is Jade, I am originally from Leeds (my Yorkshire accent will give that away!) but I moved to Derbyshire 5 years ago.

I am a qualified Veterinary Nurse that has worked in the Veterinary industry for 10 years. I graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2016. I am totally animal obsessed and absolutely love my job.

Due to my job I have a lot of experience with handling cats, giving medication (such as cats with diabetes, hyperthyroidism) and trying to keep stress levels to a minimum. I understand their behaviour and needs, but also understand how stressful it can be for owners to leave their pets with a stranger! I will provide regular updates and photos to give owners peace of mind whilst trying to enjoy their holiday / time away. You can relax on holiday knowing your cats are being well cared for and having lots of cuddles!

I am the ‘cat advocate’ nurse at my practice, which means I try make their visit to the vets as comfortable and relaxed as possible by making the practice ‘cat friendly’ This includes having boxes in their kennels to hide in, variety of bowls as we know cats can be particular about what they drink / eat from, the use of pheromones to help relax them and ensuring we have a separate consult room just for cats.

I have a strong passion and interest in cat behaviour and welfare, and they are my favourite animals! I have recently completed a course called ‘let’s talk about cats’ which included in depth information about feline behaviour, kidney disease, osteoarthritis and neutering.

I have 3 cats of my own that I couldn’t resist taking home after they came into my work as strays. They are called Jessica, Wilfred and Beatrice and they are all black and white. I absolutely adore them!

The areas I cover are Belper, Duffield, Milford, Allestree, Holbrook, and Kilburn. I may cover some other surrounding areas so please don’t hesitate to message me if you are interested :)

    Jade was brilliant - she came round beforehand to meet us and our kitty, sent us lots of lovely updates, she was also willing to look after our hamster while she was over, and overall just went above and beyond! Thanks so much Jade, 100% recommend 😊😊

    Jade was fantastic. Did far more than expected. My kitten is still kept indoors so not had much interaction from others, and anyone that does come in the house he hides from. But jade managed to coax him out his hiding places and give him little interaction. It was fabulous that she messaged daily with updates and also photos. Will definitely use again in future and would highly recommend Thank you jade

    Jade was absolutely brilliant looking after Jemima. She was so thoughtful and considerate, sent lots of updates with how Jemima was getting on, and Jemima was so relaxed and at ease the whole time. Jemima had been a little off her food and Jade really went the extra mile to ensure she was OK, to encourage her to eat and kept me updated with how she was. Would highly recommend Jade to anyone looking for a cat sitter!

    Jade was very attentive to Madams needs (she is diabetic so needs a strict regime including insulin injections and specific feed times) and did everything that she required and wanted! Jade kept us informed throughout the visit. She left notes and even washed the pots! 10/10 and we will definitely use again ❤️

    Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. I booked Jade on behalf of my mum who describes the service as incredible. Jade was kind, friendly and had a great attention to detail from start to finish. Great touches such as photo text messages showing Dora looking happy and relaxed.     Came home to very happy and relaxed cats, which considering they are quite antisocial: one a timid rescue and the other a bolshy tabby, was a relief. Jade looked after them so well and took the time to get to know them. Will definitely book her again and recommend her wholeheartedly
