About Me

Highly experienced, reliable and trustworthy cat sitter

Hi, I am an early retired local government principal officer and live in central Lancaster. I have been a cat owner for over 30 years with a total of 9 cats over that period. My current cats are a Bengal and a British Shorthair but most of my previous cats have been moggies. I have had experience of treating diabetes in two of my cats so am used to giving injections if and when necessary. I own a car and satnav so can find addresses without difficulty. I have been police checked in the past. I am a trustee of the local branch and member of the RSPCA and a member of the Campaign Against Cruel Sports and am passionate about animal welfare. I am also very interested in nutrition for animals and have undertaken a good deal of research into dietary needs as many pet foods on the market are not well designed for animals, particularly cats and can contribute towards obesity. I am happy to look after some other animals as well as cats, like hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises and fish. I can groom, play and am happy to deal with cat litter trays. I can water plants and take care of post and top up bird feeders should you require. I also deal with wheelie bins and recycling.

I will travel further distances than the 5 miles specified if a petrol allowance can be considered. I can do general caretaking duties such as dealing with post, taking care of refuse on specified days and recycling boxes, open and shut blinds and curtains for appearances. I can play with toys or just spend time. I can regularly email with up to 2 photos a day or Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp with video and photo/video reports as required. I can undertake to get your pet to a routine vets appointment should the appointment fall when you are planning to be away or in case of emergency, take to a vet after consultation with you. I have been DBS checked in my role as a senior local government officer.

    Linda was a cat-sitter for Silver, who loved her. Linda was friendly and professional and came round to our flat beforehand to meet us and ask about Silver's routine.

    She was great at looking after Silver, including send us photos and updates whilst we were away. Communication was easy via Whatsapp.

    We'd definitely hire Linda again!

    Linda is very caring and I found her completely trustworthy. I really felt that my cats and house were in safe hands with her. She came to meet us before the first catsit so we had everything ready before we went away. I had regular updates and follow ups afterwards. I would highly recommend her.
