Hi! My name is Connie and I'm the owner of a wildlife education and encounter business called Wild About Britain. I have therefore got professional experience with a variety of animals, from domestic dogs and cats through to exotic reptiles, amphibians, fish, invertebrates and birds!

I have been very fortunate to have grown up in a family of cat lovers, having experienced owning a wide range of breeds, temperaments and ages. We always had mixed breeds and rescues in the family, but I had a special bond with my beloved bengal who was totally crazy and full of life. I now share my home with two indoor cats - my very active sphynx and a sweet but sensitive rescue munchkin.

I have a very good understanding of cat behaviour, enrichment and nutrition, having worked in a pet shop where I was specifically trained on natural cat foods and a wide range of other cat products. This has provided me with a fantastic insight into their care requirements and how it varies between individuals.

I have experience using a variety of feeding techniques, from homemade and premade raw diets (which I feed my own cats) to wet foods and kibble fed through automatic feeders as well as served by hand.

My background in wildlife rehabilitation means I am confident in administering medications and treatments accurately and safely, and dealing with individuals that may require a little more attention to detail. I am also very aware of spotting potential health issues should they present during your time away.

I am also happy to provide the appropriate grooming for your cat, having experience with cats with a range of coat types from no hair to long hair!

I am fairly flexible with visit times, however dependant on the visit hours my very cat savvy 6yo son may join me to care for your cat/s. He is fantastic with animals, with a very gentle and calm demeanour, knowing to show sensitivity and appropriate behaviour to more nervous individuals and happy to remain calm and understanding dependant on the cats personality. However if you are not comfortable with this around your cat/s then do let me know and I can work around it.

During a visit I am happy to feed your cat/s, clean their feeding apparatus, provide fresh water, clean out their litter tray, check the house for anything out of the ordinary, provide play time and human company for your cat, administer medication, brushing and grooming, nail clipping etc.

If you tell me your routine with your cat, I will strive to match it the best I can do help your cat feel as comfortable as possible whilst in my care and help the process run smoothly.

I am very happy to provide daily updates in the way of photographs, videos or messages.
