About Me
Cat sitter in London
Hello! I'm George, I'm a freelance writer, copywriter and I work in online entertainment (running escape rooms and dungeons and dragons games) and a huge nerd (dungeons and dragons is also a hobby!) - living at and working from my home in fabulous Tooting Broadway.
I've lived in cat households almost my entire life - we had one when I was very young by the name of Florence. She gave birth to six kittens at one point, one of whom stayed on and acquired the name of Panic by way of the patterning around her eyes. I miss the pair of them to this day.
I have two cats at the moment, and working from home get to spend most of every day hanging out with them - 14-year-old Zelda who is black-and-white, deaf as a post and mad as a bus, and who sleeps on my shoulder every night and knocks my glasses off the nightstand every morning; and Gambit, her younger counterpart, a 9-year-old female stripy ginger with impeccable manners and a love for scritches under the chin.
Living with a total of five cats over the years with completely different temperaments, I've gotten very good at reading their language and figuring exactly how they want to be treated; I know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em, and know when they'd rather be left alone or just want to be fed immediately.
I love bonding time with new cats, especially those that like to play (neither of mine are particularly into toys and distractions, so relish the chance to dangle a feather in front of a young kitty and watch it give chase...)
Zelda is the old lady of the house and she has needed various medications more or less constantly for the last 2-3 years, so I've also had some years of almost daily practice at administering pills (whether by easy pill or by gentle force-feeding) and applying liniments, Hibiscrub and ear medication.
