About Me
Friendly Heaton Mersey based lecturer who grew up on a farm with multiple cats
I am a Medical Science lecturer working at the University of Central Lancashire and love animals. For years I wanted to be a vet and have had lots of experience working on farms, in vets practices and even at a zoo! During my PhD at the University of Manchester I worked as a teaching assistant on an undergraduate field trip to the South African bush where we studied animal behaviour, observing everything from big cats to dung beetles to giraffes.
I grew up on a farm in Devon and always had cats, dogs, and other animals, so I am very happy with all aspects of animal care. Because of this, I take a very practical approach to looking after animals (whilst always being on standby for a cat cuddle) and am confident in handling emergency situations. I have also looked after friends pets recently.
I can walk, drive, or cycle to your home to look after your pets and look forward to meeting you.
I’ve always been around cats and other animals at home so am very comfortable with them.
Having grown up on a farm I am also comfortable with some basic healthcare requirements (e.g. oral and topical medications) and can discuss this with you if needed.
