Patient, calm and empathic

I’m a stay at home parent to a 6yo boy. We lived in Melbourne, Australia for 6.5yrs before moving back in 2024. In Melbourne, I’d been pet sitting as additional income, and sometimes my son came too (if agreed with the owner).

Prior to that, my career had mostly been in the NHS, but I also worked in the charity sector.

I love all animals really but especially cats, as I grew up around them - we had 2 Burmese cats, one of which lived to be 17yo and even as a 16yo myself, I cared for her when she was ill, feeding her by syringe until she passed. I have also had a hamster and fish. As a teenager, and as an adult, I've often helped friends and neighbours out when they're away by looking after their pets - cats usually but I have also looked after dogs and rabbits too.

I'm calm and patient - I very much let them come to me when they're ready. I make sure your pet has been given attention and affection (if they want some), as well as fed, watered, and had litter cleaned etc. I'm happy to play and pet them, or just sit and be around for a while, depending on what they like. I send updates and pictures daily so you can relax and enjoy your time away.

I'm a fan of Jackson Galaxy and his work on cat behaviour, which has helped me to gain a better understand of cats, and I use a lot of his techniques with Bolly, as well as the cats I look after. This has meant I've been able to befriend many nervous, shy cats using those skills. I've also got experience with raw food as I've transitioned Bolly to a raw food diet so I'm happy to handle raw meat if needed. I’ve also got experience giving a variety of medications to cats, and I’m always willing to learn new skills.

HOUSE VISITS: Usually 30-45min per visit depending on the needs of the pet. My usual routine is as follows 1 Greeting your pet - Play/pet time 2 Food and water 3 Litter 4 More play/pet

EXTRAS: Happy to bring in mail, put bins out, water plants and any other tasks you need help with whilst you're away.
