Pebbles and Paws

My coffee mug says very aptly: "Everything tastes better with cat hair in it" and I try and live by that motto.

As the owner of two rather shed-happy felines, I have no problem getting my daily dose of fur. I am also mum of two little girls who thankfully don't shed quite as much!

I grew up with cats and currently owner of two adorable (and slightly overfed) orange tabbies who have travelled the world with us (the paperwork was gruesome though). When I am not dragging my cats and kids across the Atlantic I occasionally work for other cat-sitting companies, friends and family, and am available again this season as I am for once at home for Christmas! :D

If you are interested in hiring me I will arrange to meet you and your cat(s) before your trip so you can show me where things are around your home, how to operate alarm systems, feeders etc if applicable. We will discuss any special requirements you may have (meds, food, cat quirks etc). For the days that I am looking after your cat(s) I will update you with pictures and keep you posted on anything mundane or exciting that may have happened during your absence. I will typically arrange my visits as close to the cat's normal feeding time as possible and aim to spend around half an hour playing and chatting with the kitty. Over the years especially the Christmas stints have been largely peaceful with my feline clients. Ok, there was the odd pilfering of food sachets, a power outage that I managed to deal with, and one VERY upset kitty who did not appreciate a stranger in her territory. We eventually opted to stare at each other from opposite corners of the house :D But cycling around town on a crisp and cold holiday morning and snuggling up with a happy cat is actually a pretty nice way to start the day :)

As a cat owner I totally understand all the wild concerns about handing your beloved pets to a stranger, and will do my best to put your mind at ease and keep your kitty happy and healthy.
