About Me
Cat sitter in London
Hi! I'm Flora, a freelance writer living in Nunhead. I've grown up with cats all my life: first a brown Burmese named Oscar who was already a somewhat grumpy middle-aged cat when I was born, and when he sadly passed away (at the ripe old age of 18 and three quarters) my family and I got Jasper, a blue Burmese who became my pseudo little brother. We were immediately inseparable for the next 15 years!
Pre-pandemic, I was living in East London where plenty of the neighbourhood cats came to say hello each day, and spent eight months taking care of a gorgeous stray female who was left behind when her owner moved away and who didn't want to leave our flat. Midway through 2020 and back in Nunhead, I adopted the gorgeous Olive (who quickly became Oli) and we've been best buds ever since. Even though she's still not happy being picked up. We'll get there eventually!
At the moment I'm able to look after any cats within walking distance – around Peckham Rye/Nunhead cemetery and the surrounding streets are preferable, but I potentially can walk to Crofton Park, Brockley and Nunhead too.
I like to visit owners beforehand for a face-to-face chat if possible, and to calm any nerves about leaving your cats in my care.
Once you're away, I always make sure to send plenty of cat photos and videos (there's a chance your WhatsApp notifications will blow up as a result!)
