Amal visited our kitten Ruby every day for seven weeks while we were working and was absolutely wonderful. She was always there when we asked her to be and stayed for much longer than we expected. She sent us loads of cute pictures of Ruby. It really put my mind at ease knowing that our cat was being so well cared for.

Amal did an amazing job taking care of Ramesses during our holiday abroad. We were a bit anxious because we had never left him on his own for so long, but Amal completely put us at ease with her frequent pictures and updates. It was clear that she really cared about him--almost to the point of spoiling him. :-) In fact, we think he might miss her a bit because now he rushes to the door every time he hears someone approach! Would absolutely recommend.

I have already reviewed Amal, but wanted to give a final review to say how great she had been with my cat Max. Sadly, I’ve moved so Amal can’t look after Max anymore, but she has been my go to cat sitter for the last two years, and this was because of the great bond she formed with my cat Max. He is a very nervous boy, but Amal clearly overcame that- the pictures everyday were of then having cuddles! I would 100% recommend Amal, she is kind, considerate, respectful of your home and most importantly clearly loves cats, which meant I never had a worry when I was away from Max.

Amal took great care of George and was great at sending updates which is always reassuring. I'd happily ask her to step in again to look after George - hopefully she (George) will overcome her shyness and make more of an appearance next time!

If you would like a cat sitter to show up for 10 minutes and brush her teeth, this is the one for you! She did not even show up on the second day. I sent a message saying we would be home late afternoon and requested she come in the morning. She did not. I am now waiting for my key to arrive via mail. Will have to change my locks if it does not. ALWAYS HAVE A SECURITY CAMERA!!!! It is the only way you will know what is happening. Got a great shot of her discovering the camera while brushing her teeth. The litter box was not cleaned. I never saw her touch a cat. She did feed them though so that is something. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: CAT SITTER RESPONSE ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Thank you to CatinaFlat for allowing me to respond. I would like to use it for previous and future cat owners as a communicating with Karen has proven to be difficult. 1. I have screenshots of messages-that I can share on request- from Karen expressing her preference for an earlier (morning or afternoon!) visit on the second day since they were hoping to be back late evening. On the second day, I received a text from her before 3 telling me « not to worry » if I hadn’t been able to visit yet since they were nearby. I apologized and offer a free visit for the next booking but received no response, and was just asked to give the key back since they needed it before the Christmas booking. I did send it back by post the following day as per her request as it was the fastest way since she doesn’t live nearby. I had accepted this booking as a favour to Karen; she had previously booked me for the upcoming Christmas period and asked if I could also come on these earlier dates when I met her to collect the keys in advance. I didn’t get any answer to my messages but I assume she has received her key now. I never missed a visit, in fact quite the opposite; I’ve sometimes had to do an extra visit because of transport delays or extra days of holidays and I am always happy to oblige. 2. I respect owners’ wishes to have a camera, but my advice would be to have one in every room instead of just the one, especially if like Karen you happen to have a two floor flat and several rooms each floor, since it would allow you to be accurate about timings, and know exactly what is happening and what people are doing in each room. Which leads me into 3, the most objective comment on the review where Karen states she did not see me touch a cat, rather than saying that I didn’t. Still, not quite true. I always send pictures to owners, and I happen to have two, that I sent her, when you see me doing just that. As she mentioned herself, her cats are quite shy. Indeed, I couldn’t see them when I came for the keys as they hid from me. They came out when I did my first visit but were mostly running away, except when I got the food out. Which is completely fine. I believe in leaving the cats time and letting them come to you, rather than forcing anything. And since I was going to come back next day and again at Christmas I thought it best to wait and let them get used to me. I would never make any cat do something against their will. 4. I was brushing my teeth while doing a last check around the house, but didn’t mean to offend anyone by doing so. The cats usually do not mind. I also sometimes have a drink of water, or tea or coffee if I've been invited too by owners, write or read if a cat is asleep on or by me, take a phonecall or bring a sandwich or an instant soup if I am staying a while at around lunch or dinner time. I sometimes also fill my water bottle, and go to the toilet. I also happen to roll on the floor with cats sometimes and chase and let myself be chased during play which may look odd to the viewer behind the camera, but is merely one way to interact with cats. If it might pose a problem for future people considering me as a catsitter, please let me know in advance, or maybe consider someone else if you feel it is best. For anyone really wishing to see the screenshots and pictures mentioned, please do get it touch. I myself can also provide anyone interested an image of me brushing my teeth.
