• Available School Holidays! * Hi! I'm Cara and I work as a scientist for the NHS after completing a PhD in Reproductive Medicine. I also work as an emotional health worker with vulnerable young people. More importantly, I love cats! I have been around cats in the family home since before I was born. My longest furry companions, Ben & Jerry were half brother and sister and were adopted as kittens from Lothian cat rescue in 2001. Ben was black with white patches and extremely fluffy (described by the the vet as having "the most magnificent tail"- it gets everywhere!) and Jerry is short-haired tortoiseshell. Sadly both are now chasing birds in the sky. We have adopted Isla, a very timid rescue for LCR in 2020. She's really come out of her shell, is eating properly now, and will even occasionally sit on your lap for some attention. Due to the nature of being a student I do not have the long-term stability to own a cat again just yet, so really enjoy looking after other pets.

I have been cat sitting for over 10 years for friends and neighbours, and sometimes other pets too, with a range of different needs. I have lots of time around my studies and so am especially good with cats that require lots of interaction and playtime such kittens, or cats that are not used to being left alone. I'm more than happy to provide updates and pictures of your cat while you are away however often you wish, I know I worry about my wee one when I have to leave.
