I've always had a love of animals. I've lived with cats since I was 9 years old, when we adopted a couple of feral kittens who were born in our garden. Spike and Gismo were much loved family members for many years.

As a teenager I volunteered at the local SSPCA animal welfare shelter. And in my early twenties I volunteered at a local vet. So I have experience of caring for cats, dogs and other small animals.

In my adult life I adopted seven year old Cassie from Cats Protection and enjoyed ten years with her. Then, until I was ready to adopt another cat, I had an amazing wee pet rat called Monty. Seven years ago I adopted Smokey and Bandit, who make me laugh every day and I enjoy their very different personalities.

I understand how important it is to make sure your cat's cared for when you need to be away from home. It's something I've agonised over for work trips and holidays. It's much less stressful for your cat if they can stay in their own home rather than go into a cattery. But there's only so often you can ask friends and family to pop in to care for them before you start to feel like a burden. It's a big deal to find the right person to take care of them, keep them company and to be in your home.

I appreciate that each cat has their own individual needs, likes, dislikes and ways of things being done. I'd like to be introduced to your cat before you first leave them in my care, and for you to show me exactly what you do for them so I can do my very best to provide the standards they're used to.

I know when I leave my girls I love to receive photos and updates on how they are. I'd be more than happy to do the same for you whilst I'm caring for your cat.
