About Me
Cat sitter in London
Open to new clients in the Tulse Hill Area!
My name is Louise, I am a French cat lover and now lucky owner. I am currently working full time on West Coast time (4:30-1am), which leaves me plenty of time during the day to spend to spend time with our furry friends!
I am a fairly quiet person and I am more comfortable at home with a book and a cat than outside at the club.
I fell in love with cats really early and was brought up in a family with a love for animals of all sorts. We had plenty of rescue animals (including a hedgehog) but I always preferred the company of the family cat. She always was my favorite, and I was inconsolable when we lost our beloved pet the year I moved to the UK.
Being a student for 9 years and constantly moving didn't allow me to have my own pet for a really long time, so I always took the occasion to spend time with cats in another way by catsitting for friends and neighbors, volunteering at a Shelter, and looking after strays.
Finally, last year I was able to achieve my long-last goal to adopt a cat of my own (pictured in my profile). She is a lovely cuddly calico cat who makes my life better every day. Having a cat, however, isn't stopping me from wanting to look after everyone else's!
I have been catsitting for roughly 12 years for my friends, neighbors and family, and have become known in my circles for being "the cat lady", as there is rarely a request I turn down when it comes to pets.
In more recent years I have also gained experience with dog walking (and dog sitting), but my first love will always be cats.
I am a very patient person when it comes to our feline friends. I have no problem understanding shy or scared cats, and have no problem whether it takes a second, an hour or a lifetime for a cat to be okay with my presence. My cat being a shy cat, I know it can take some time for them to trust us giants.
My usual catsitting process is: - long visits to ensure the cat has fresh food, water and clean litter + socialisation and play if they want. - I like to try and find what your cat is used to/enjoys. If you work from home from the living room, I may take a book to read in the same spot, anything that feels familiar for them will help them relax - I always try to dedicate time for play (usually danglers are a great first approach), because I know how boring and lonely it can be if they have someone around only twice in the day. - I always conclude each visit with an update and pictures (or videos).
I would say I am pretty experienced, but I have to admit that giving pills to cats is not my strong suit, unless they are okay taking it in food. I however have been a catsitter for older cats and cats with special needs that may require specific diets or extra care.
I believe that an initial meeting with each owner and cat is absolutely crucial, so please let me know your availability for this when you book me.
Please note that due to my work hours (4:30 pm to 1 am), I am only able to accept requests for 2 visits a day that are relatively close to my house. My time in the evening is limited to my break time which prevents me to go too far away.
