Hello, my name is Athena and I am based in Cardiff. I share my home with my human family and two beautiful cats, Carwen and Deryn who came to us from Anna's Rescue when they looked like two fluffy balls! Until late summer 2021 we shared our home with our Eirwyn who sadly passed away of old age.

I work full time as Teaching Assistant and my plan is to have cat sitting as my retirement job!

I have a long experience with cats and I try to make my visits as stress free as possible for your little friend!

I know from personal experience how hard it is to trust someone to look after an animal you live with when you are away. You can rest assured that I will give the care and attention that I would want for my cat.

• A typical visit with the cat at home is between 30-40 minutes depending on the age of the cat, whether the cat prefers or avoids contact and on whether it is a single visit or not. If the cat is outside then I would stay only for the time needed to clean food trays, put food/water and clean litter.

NOTE: The fee per visit is the same regardless of the number of cats.

A bit more about me:

I was brought up living with cats. A male cat was a member of my family and later on a female kitten joined him after she was found with broken legs and tail. Both cats lived as members of the family until they passed away at a very old age.

Brought up in Greece, I got involved with a wild animal rescue centre, became foster mother for several wild birds and successfully rescued and raised kittens and found them loving families. I was involved in cat rescues and the feeding of stray animals especially cats.

A typical visit includes the following:

• Provide fresh food and fresh water in clean bowls • Wash bowls that are already used • Use time to socialize, play & cuddle (& treats if allowed) • Litter box clearing & topping up (changing if applicable) • Regular photos & updates (if my visits are for more than 1 day) • Collecting post & watering plants (if needed) • Walking indoors without shoes • Leaving the house exactly as I found it!
