About Me
Cat sitter in London
Hello
Thank you for looking at my profile!
A bit about me: after finding a young cat, hurt and lost, in a road in Putney some summers ago, I decided to do some local cat-sitting and have now looked after cats all over Putney and some of Wandsworth for the last 7-8 years meeting lots of furry friends. Even though I now have my own beloved indoor-outdoor, naturally-fed kitten, I still enjoy returning often on a recurring basis to care for various the various cats I've met.
While all my clients love their pets, over the last few years, I've seen a larger number of cats who are confined to small spaces with no stimulation (cat trees or scratch posts that can mimic their outdoor environment); not exercised even with access to the outside (cats need to eat grass / or have appropriate replacements, to cleanse their gullets!); over-medicated / over-fed causing health problems; and fed on a (commercially processed) mono-diets leading to lethargy and skin / fur issues.
I find this upsetting, even though it's usually a result of lack of knowledge rather than care. So I'd love to help with suggestions to small changes that you can make. And, although it may be uncomfortable, I will try to make gentle suggestions -- no reflection on you but retired in the wellbeing of your pet -- from my own knowledge and experience of nutrition. To back this up, I am now completing the LIBN certificate in Animal Care and Pet Nutrition led by https://www.canineangel.co.uk
I gladly feed, clean and spend some time playing and cuddling puss...
I'm a runner and sometimes do the cat-rounds on my morning run which means I don't always have my phone with me so I limit my correspondence to one text and photo every other day (I try to to every day especially if a cat is young / old / unwell) though I will try and let you know that all is well each day.
I do work full time so can, in general, no longer offer overnight stays and my preference, unless you live off or very near Putney Hill, is just one visit a day (I’m happy to set timed feeders for a second feed).
Also, although I do endeavour to do all morning feeds between 7 and 10am and evening between 6.30 and 8pm, there may be occasions when I have to flex those times -- but your cat will always be caressed, fed and cleaned according to the number of visits agreed per day.
I’ll do a full litter change for sits of 5 days and longer and will even mop out the litter area if needed / asked. Although my primary concern is the welfare of your cat rather than ensuring perfect order :)!
