About Me
Cat enthusiast available for your cat care needs!
Hello all, I grew up in Chicago, IL but I have lived in London for 6+ years on and off. My most recent 9-5 job was in fundraising in a Hospice in West London, but I left that in March. I've been looking for another position in a nonprofit, but as you know, times are tough! Since March, I have been dogsitting, catsitting, plantsitting, and babysitting. Ideally am I looking for a part-time gig in a charity so that I can still do things like animal and baby -sitting. I find time with both so rewarding.
While I have never owned a cat myself, I have always been a cat lover. Growing up, my aunt had a cat and I would often choose hanging out with her (Callie) over socialising in the house (hah!). Moving to London, I was delighted to learn that the majority of cats are indoor/outdoor cats. It always brightens my day when a neighbourhood cat decides to escort me part of way home. It makes me feel like I have won the cat's trust and it is also looking out for me.
Because of my love of cats, my former flat mate Maya would ask me to sit for her cats when her and her family would go out of town for the holidays. I have sat for them several times and am able to provide a reference if needed.
Sadly, both of her cats passed away last year. I miss the furry little creatures, and knowing that that I would be asked to cat sit in the future.
As I am pretty new to Cat in a Flat, I would be happy to share references from some of my dogsitting and babysitting families if you are interested in hearing someone speak of their experiences with me caring for their child or dog. Thanks!
I would say that cuddles and pats are my specialty. I am respectful of the cat's space and am good at picking up cues as to whether or not they are up for some affection.
I love playing with cats and truly enjoy their company.
