About Me
Cat sitter in London
Hi
I was a volunteer re-homer, fosterer and moggie midwife for the Wood Green Animals charity In Lordship Lane from January 2017 until they closed and moved out of London in March 2020. I'd say I've had a fair bit of training in cat behaviour and psychology and I am so glad that the cat mums and dads on this site are looking to keep their puss at home in a familiar environment rather than putting them in a pet motel. I still maintain contacts within Wood Green and have been volunteering as a fosterer and moggie midwife since. I think it's fair to say I have a lot of experience with 'street' cats with health issues and difficult personalities.
I am in between permanent cats at the moment but the last one was a Maine Coon and I have also had Persians so am handy with a Furminator. I'd say I was ok giving medication but only because my sick cats were all very food orientated. Moses had his twice daily Felimazole in Philadephia and Ianthe her Prednisolone in a Miamor cream treat. I've given jabs to consenting humans.
I work as an administrator in the NHS and have a current enhanced DBS check (cleared to work with children as well as adults).
I'm afraid I won't be able to look after any 'new' clients over the Christmas and holiday period 2024 - 2025 as I expect to be busy with my regular furry friends.
The Wood Green charity only rehomes cats to homes where they have access to the outdoors - it's much better for them psychologically. Unfortunately the foxes in the neighbourhood are so very lairy I think I'd only be happy looking after indoor cats or very stay at home cats so I wouldn't have the worry of trying to find them if they weren't at home. [added] I looked after Pax over Christmas 2019/2020 who had access to outdoors but the moment the key turned in the lock, zoom, she was there waiting for me.
