About Me
Looking for some furry (and purry) friends to hang out with 😺
For someone who doesn't own a cat, I seem to have become very chummy with the neighborhood cats... I've had 3 cats in my lifetime, each holding a special place in my heart. My current cat (Blackjack) is living with my mum, since I moved out with my partner. Unfortunately for us our landlord doesn't allow pets, unless a much higher deposit is paid... I do miss her but I know she's in great hands with all the time, attention, love and necessities she needs. Truth is, I enjoy spending time with cats, we're naturally drawn to one another. I find stroking them therapeutic, I also like how they can be aloof yet adorable at the same time! There's also something about a dependent and sentient being that I'm naturally drawn to nurturing.
I understand that cats can have a variety of personalities just like humans. Some seek solitude while others are extroverts craving the limelight. Sometimes a mixture of both, either way I find it's better to mirror their behaviour and be aloof in the first meeting and let them approach you, so that they can feed their curiosity and start gaining trust. I'm regularly asked to take care of their cats by friends and family, especially when they're away for long periods of time such as holiday break. I'm always happy to do so when I can. I'm highly fond of dogs too and regularly volunteer on dog sitting sights such as 'Borrow my doggy'.
I'm a cat carer, with the purrrest intentions! I'm happy to travel up to 5km (3 miles) to make some furry friends. I am comfortable with (and highly practised) in: Feeding cats food and fresh water on schedule Cleaning litter box when required Comfortable taking care of up to 4 cats at a time Providing cats with countless strokes and cuddles (if that's what they prefer) Keeping them off scratching furniture (I've read that if you lift them up enough times and put them on their scratching post EVERY time they scratch something they shouldn't, they will eventually learn to reach out for the scratching post when they feel the urge. Worked like a dream for my cats!) Rewarding with the occasional treats * Breaking up the occasional cat squabble! * Creating a calm and comfortable environment for your cat * Occasional over night stay at cat owners location (subject to meeting)
