About Me

The Cat Lady Southwater

Hello, my name is Kara and I'm a cat sitter for Southwater Village.

I have had the privilege of looking after 10 of Southwater's kitty residents so far (I often have repeat bookings too) and would be more than happy to look after your furry family member(s)

I take my responsibility to you and your pet seriously and their safety, happiness and overall wellbeing is my number one priority.

If you would like to book me in the future, or have any questions, please send me a message here and I will aim to get back to you on the same day.

Before the booking starts, I will come and meet you and your cat/cats a few days before, or whenever is convenient for you. This is so I can make sure we are a good fit and so you can ask me any questions and tell me their day to day needs.

I also kindly ask to provide a key so I can let myself in and lock up afterwards. (this will be returned either by popping it through the letter box on the last visit, or returning it to you when you are back home)

My responsibilities as your cat sitter include:

- Daily feeding (once or twice a day depending on their needs)

- Putting fresh water out every day

- Cleaning their bowls

- Cleaning out the litter tray and disposing of their smelly presents!

- Feeding of treats if they have any

- Changing the bin(s). (Please provide bin bags/liners if you require this)

- Play time and lots of attention! Happy to let them fall asleep on my lap if they like to

- Grooming with a brush or comb

- Administering medication such as tablets or spot on treatments

- General tidying up around the place before your return, such as wiping surfaces etc

- Watering plants (indoors and outside)

- Bringing in any post or parcels.

- Putting the green or blue bin out Thursday evenings

- Sending you updates and photos of your kitty, usually via WhatsApp

I can also take care of small pets like hamsters or gerbils as I have had my own in the past. Happy to change bedding and top up food and change water etc.

I do offer an overnight service if you would prefer having someone keeping your cat company overnight, as I understand some cats need a little more attention and like having someone around for longer. There is an overnight option in the booking process.

Most cats just need one or two visits a day, however let me know what is best for you. Its important to me that you are happy and your cat is happy!

    Kara looked after our two Persian boys so well. She carried out their care needs exactly how instructed and communicated with us regularly, to reassure us and to query little issues she had picked up in our home, such as a laptop being left on. This made us feel very safe and when we got home our cats were chilled. Big thanks to Kara!

As Saffy had never been left at all we were unsure what to expect but we needn't have worried as they got on well and she even sat on Kara's lap which it has taken 3 years for her to do to me.     This is the first time we've used kara,it definitely won't be the last.its the first time we've left Tilly and she not keen on strangers, so was a bit worried, I didn't need to worry Tilly took to kara very well and quickly, we had daily updates, photos and videos of Tilly having lots of fuss and stokes,and being a tart as usual,

    Kara was a great cat sitter whilst my husband and I were on honeymoon! Kara sent us daily photo and video updates, playing with our cats and giving them attention (as well as feeding and watering them). She even put our bins out for us! Kara's consistent contact whilst we were away put our minds at ease and we knew our cats were being looked after!

    We have booked Kara twice now for looking after our Burmese while we have been away. As before Kara was wonderful with him and he is happy and chilled after all the attention. If (like we were) you were looking for an alternative to a cattery I would highly recommend Kara as her level of care and attention is superb.

    We were looking for an alternative to a cattery after hearing mixed reviews so looked online and found Kara, and after an initial meeting, her we booked her to visit the house to feed our elderly Burmese twice a day for a week. We are so glad we did. Kara has been a godsend and has really made a fuss of him! Would definitely recommend Kara and will be definitely looking to rebook her again next time we are away! Not sure Jasper would forgive us if we didn’t.
