About Me

Honest, reliable and qualified; loves providing cuddles, mental stimulation; and of course, food!

Hi, I'm Caroline, your local qualified, friendly cat-lady and owner of The Cat's Pyjamas!

I have been around cats all my life and have had 4 of my own fluffballs as an adult. I'm currently owned by two kitten mischief makers (Elphie and Squiggle) and previously Treacle and Gracie, who have now passed over the rainbow bridge.

I have a postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy. I also have other animal-based qualifications and experience, including: First aid for cats and dogs Veterinary Assistant, Feline Behaviour & Psychology, Canine Welfare, Behaviour & Training, Volunteer cat cuddler and dog walker.

I understand that every pet is different in terms of needs, wants and tolerances. I am happy to look after elderly pets, having nursed Gracie through her last few months (I adopted her at age 18!), and supported Treacle through devastating heart failure, I know how important it is to provide stress-free and pain-free care. Several of my fluffy Clients are elderly and require gentle care and medication.

I am DBS checked and very trustworthy.

Firstly, I'll set up a free meet and greet, at a mutually convenient time, so I can meet you and your fluffball(s) and you can ask any questions.

I am available to visit once a day (or twice in exceptional circumstances, such as when medication is needed) to feed and water, clean trays; and provide much-needed companionship whilst you are away, according to your instructions. I can set a food timer to open for other meals.

I'm more than happy to provide cuddles, tickles and belly rubs, but only if your pet likes these. Enrichment is also very important for pets, so I'm happy to do food games and brain training if these are part of your pet's routine. Or I can assess your furry friend when we meet - they'll usually tell me what they want and whether I'm allowed access to the forbidden belly floof!

I'm happy to tidy post and water a few houseplants.

If you ask me to come twice a day, I can also open and close curtains, run the TV or lights, etc.

My inclusive service fees are generally for up to 3 cats.

Additional services (please ask):

Mileage (more than 5 miles away) - 45p per mile

I'm happy to administer medication to well-behaved pets :) I can also do subcutaneous injections e.g. scruff of neck.

I can also look after small furries e.g. rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs; chickens.

I can also tend to your garden / pots / greenhouse whilst you're away.

All my individual charges are listed on my website

If you have more than 3 cats, small furries, large furries or feathered friends, or require lots of medication administration, I may charge a little more, as it takes more time to give them all the care that they deserve. But I will let you know this when you enquire.

    Caroline has been looking after my mothers cat beautifully. The cat is a Persian and due to ill health mum hadn’t groomed her properly. Caroline did this without being asked and the cat looks fabulous. She has also been showing her cat tv! ( you tube clips of birds in a garden - who knew! ) Clearly loves cats. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
