Cat Sitting (feeding, playing, strokes & cleaning)

Hello, I’m Amelia and I work a flexible day job as a chartered Town Planner. With a fair bit of spare time on my hands and a love of cats, I figured cat sitting would be perfect me.

A bit more about me:-

I currently have three cats as you may have noticed in my ‘Cat in a Flat’ gallery. Wolfie (9), Ivy (4) and Mr B (3). Wolfie and Mr B are ragdolls and Ivy is a Balinese. Sadly, my eldest Milo also in my gallery, passed away in September from cancer. I had him since I was 19 and he was the sweetest little guy ever who loved nothing more than sitting on my chest and making biscuits whilst getting kisses and strokes.

That said, the last 6 months or so of his life were spent going back and forth to the vets desperately trying to get a diagnosis whilst giving specialist care and administrating medication. I am therefore fairly experienced in caring for old or sick animals and giving medication when and if required.

I’ve also grown up with cats all my life with my family also being a bit cat obsessed. They currently have four cats (the four ginger ones in my gallery (Percy, Lou Lou, Wendy and Freddie)) and I often look after them when my parents are on holiday, which is often now they’ve retired.

In terms of actual work experience and although quite a few years ago now, I spent three years or so working in a cattery (Colinton Country Cattery) during my years at university. This was honestly one of my favourite jobs - I got to cuddle and play with many different personalities all day (whilst also doing a bit of cleaning) and most of the other pictures in my gallery are of several of those cats from the cattery. One day (when I can afford it), I hope to open my own cattery!
