Cat sitter in London

I'm a 24 year old Irish cat lover and student, who has owned my own wee furry pal since I was a little girl. I moved to London four years ago and have been catsitting for three of those.

Living in London has left me desperately missing spending time with cats. My cat Maudie, who lives at my mum's house in Northern Ireland, is a mad wee thing who likes to play fetch for about an hour each evening, burrows her way under the duvet at night, and eats any food she can get her paws on (genuinely anything: stale shortbread, banana, potato peel, and raw egg whites are a few of her recent conquests, and she’ll also drink tea, coffee, and wine if she gets the chance). After a year of her madness, fifteen before that of my first cat Herbie (grumpy, fussy, aggressive, utterly wonderful), and four years of catsitting, I’m well used to all types of cats and their little eccentricities, and I’ve yet to meet a cat I didn’t immediately fall in love with.

I will provide you with lots of updates and photos of your wee furry pal while you’re away, as I know how much of a comfort that can be when you’re away from them! I love nothing more than curling up with a cat on my lap and a book, so I'm happy to stay for longer than a quick feed, to give your cat some proper attention.

In my time catsitting, I have looked after two blind cats, a three legged cat, cats recovering from surgery, and a cat who needed tablets crushed into their morning feed. I’ve looked after indoor and outdoor cats, cats who are cuddly, aggressive, clingy, aloof, energetic, sleepy, fussy, easygoing, every possible type (and adored them all).

I’m particularly great at dealing with cats who are slightly more aggressive. I desperately miss my cat Herbie, who very sadly passed away last November after fifteen years of sleeping on my bed every night, even after I moved to London. He was always a feisty wee lad, so I'm well versed in looking after cats who can be aggressive. In fact, I have a bit of a soft spot for cats who are on the grumpy/fussy side, and have no problem with a few scratches!

I also know (from experience with Herbie) never to push a cat for affection who isn’t interested, and how to tell when a cat is about to flip from adorable and cuddly to vicious, and have developed quick reflexes to avoid claws and teeth!
