Need an
awesome
cat sitter?
About Me
Devoted cat parent who loves spending time with and caring for cats.
I’m a self employed language tutor and work from my home in the West End. It’s perfect for me because it means I get to spend a lot of time with my cats, although they’re not the most helpful with lesson planning.
I’ve grown up with cats and had a lifetime of experience with various different cats, their personalities and their needs. I love all cats and can quickly adapt to socialise and care for all sorts of different personalities. I have been cat sitting since 2014. I’ve traditionally cat sit through word of mouth and through acquaintances. After using Cat in a Flat myself, I decided to join as a cat sitter to provide the same level of great care and comfort that my cat received.
—————————————————— My cats:
My partner and I have two cats, one rescue cat called Sagheera who is a shy wee lassie and has been with us for a wee while. If ever we’re ill or feeling down, she’s always right there for us. She’s not much of a lap cat and she can be very skittish when she hears a loud noise or meets a new person but she’s extremely affectionate and loving towards her family and people she gets to know well.
Then there’s Neko, we got him as a kitten. We went to visit a litter of kittens and we couldn’t choose. Being climbed and clambered on by stumbly little kittens was absolute heaven but one little guy (our Neko) climbed right up me and into my arms and sat there looking at me for a full 10 minutes, before falling asleep. We figured we’d been chosen. He’s loving and caring as well as extremely intelligent and cunning.
It can be tricky balancing two cats with very different personalities but we socialised them well and they’re now best friends. They especially like eating and playing together and seeing who can catch the other’s tail the fastest.
No two cats are exactly alike and that’s why I will listen carefully to you and your cat(s) to make sure I meet their wants and needs.
Going away from your cat can be a really horrible experience - it certainly is for me. The worry that they’re okay, how they’re coping without you, and just greatly missing their general presence.
I’ll make sure I spend a good amount of time with them and do whatever they like. I understand that some like to play, others to cuddle, and some just like having someone there either talking to them or just being near them. I will also send you updates on request and am happy to call/video call you on request too.
I will obviously feed your cat(s), change and clean their water bowl(s) and litter tray(s), and can also administer some medications. I’ve given cats crushed tablets, eye drops, apply to skin treatments (like Frontline flea treatment), and applied antiseptic creams before but have no experience administering vaccinations thus will be unable to do that. I can trim claws which I do for mine.
In addition to general maintenance, I can do whatever your cat enjoys, be it strokes, cuddles, playtime, fetch (I’ve only met a few cats who play it - my two included - but they do get a real kick out of it 😂), just chatting, singing or reading to them, or sitting near them and being quiet just so they can have some human company etc.
