Hi,
I've used this website myself occasionally for my own foster cats and had some awesome experiences with cat sitters and now, I would love to give this a try as a cat sitter myself as I miss the company of a cat.
I've had cats since childhood and have fostered for 6 years for a small cat charity. I am able to deal with cats from all 'walks of life' and cater to their needs and preferences. Having extensive foster experience, I have a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to giving medicines and helping cats to discover their full potential in their play time (Please note: I do NOT have formal medical training!).
I've recently looked after a very active indoor Bengal kitten and must say that it was a lot of fun. I really don't mind more demanding cats that need a lot of exercise and play, nor do I mind ‘problematic’ cats… they all just want our love and love us back in their own way!
I am good at bonding with cats and being their companion, regardless if the cat is healthy and active or has any special needs, I like the mix and constantly learn through fostering and catsitting.
Overnight stays preferred to allow your cat to get to know the catsitter and get the right amount of attention. I believe that cats shouldn't be left alone for extensive amounts of time, definitely not longer than 48 hours! Despite that tired old stereotype of cats being loners, they are NOT! They need and want our company, even if from a (safe) distance, cats do enjoy and strive having the security of their human companion. Especially cats who are the only cat in the household need a lot of compensation from their human companions…. Cats domesticated themselves for a reason!
I am happy to feed for a day or two and spend some time playing, cleaning the litter, but generally, I dislike the idea of leaving a cat in a city like London on their own for more than two days/ one night.
I am quite flexible with my working hours and if it suits you, I will bring my laptop along to do my work from your place.
Please message me first before booking. I'll post a checklist soon to share for cat sitters / owners to make organisational things a bit easier for everyone. (work in progress!)
Many thanks!
G-Theresa
