About Me

Long term cat lover in Highams Park and Walthamstow

I've loved cats ever since I picked my first cat from the shelter at 5 years old. Her name was Sue, and unlike the other kittens running around she was very quiet, she had some of her fur shaved from treatment for being unwell and was very skittish after a bad time following the death of her previous owner. My mum was surprised at the time that I picked Sue, but very quickly she became a part of the family and started to be relaxed, happy, and playful, though she remained nervous around strangers.

Sue was the first cat I cared for but ever since them I have loved being able to provide many cats love, care, and reassurance, whether my own - i have two cats, brothers called Buffy and Fidel, my family's, friends or neighbours.

Having done it (and used this service!) I know its hard to leave your cats and have someone you don't know take care of them, both for you and for your cat. That's why my most important thing is to both put your cat or cat at ease by making a connection with them and letting them come to you, and also reassuring you while you are away with photos and updates.

I'm from Edinburgh but have lived in London for over 20 years, first coming here for university, staying because of the friends I made, the culture, and my work - I work with cities on climate change. I love cycling around, reading and group singing (I'm in a choir).

I'm comfortable with all kinds of cat care! I love spending time with them to make sure they have company, whether that is playing or cuddles - whatever the cat seems in the mood for (with mine it is almost always a chin stratch!). Of course feeding, changing water and litter trays is standard, also comfortable giving medication orally.
