About Me
Cat sitter in London
Hey there, I'm Marta. I am in my thirties and was born and grew up in Milan, Italy.
I moved to London about 6 years ago, lived in North London (Crouch End/Finsbury Park) since then and I really love it here. I especially like being able to go for a lovely walk every day without being stuck on big messy roads and meeting the cats around my neighbourhood.
My family has owned cats since I was in middle school, always somewhat chubby and very hairy for some reason. We now have three: - Brioche (10), a big, hairy, calico cutie whose mum was a Maine Coon who eloped with a neighbour-cat before her owner could organise mating with another Maine Coon and came home with a set of mixed babies. - Madelaine (9), a ginger Maine Coon who's got huge paws but is a bit of a fussy eater so she remained smaller than Brioche despite being a pure breed. Her paws are a bit disproportionate compared to the rest of her body making her an absolute cutie. - Velvet (5), the only boy in the house, he's a Scottish Straight who was the runt of the litter and wasn't growing properly, until we adopted him and figured out he just didn't like the food he was given and is now a big spoilt chubby boy.
They live back in Milan with my mum and sister. Needless to say, I love them immensely and miss them a lot. I will show pictures of them to whomever asks.
I got carried away speaking about cats, as it often happens, so don't remember what else I wanted to say, but feel free to ask if you want to know more :)
I am happy to come to feed your cat (or cats! the more the merrier!) once or twice a day, depending on what they need. I can also stay overnight if you'd rather your cat has company.
I love a good cuddle and I'm used to cats usually liking me, but there are exceptions and if your cat is not in the mood I will respect them and stay out of their way. I will pine and love them from a distance of course but will make sure to limit my contact to what's strictly necessary.
Happy to brush your cat (if they like it) to help with shedding.
I might try to make them play a little regardless of whether they like me or not (if age-appropriate and if they're not too scared of course) so that they can release some energy.
I aim to keep their litter always clean and fresh. And I'm happy to do any cleaning after the kitty to ensure they are in a comfortable environment.
Happy to water plants, collect the mail, etc. as long as it doesn't take away too much from the care and attention I can give to your cat.
Before agreeing to kitty-sit for you, especially before an overnight stay, it'd be really great if I could meet them with you around so that we can understand if your cat is okay with me being in their space.
I speak Italian and English fluently. I understand and can speak a little French and Spanish.
I can give medication if needed in the form of tablets/pills or paste. I can't do injections.
