Playful pet-pal Powell

From cats and dogs, terrapins to hamsters, I've loved many pets since I was a child. I have 3 cats at my family home in London, but no pets YET in Brum! I often feel as though I've got a world of animal friends. Every mammal I've met I've had a connection with and I really respect nature and our planets biodiversity. I'm a creative person and a bit of a chameleon in terms of work; a freelance designer-maker (so sewing and fixing things is something extra I can add), a researcher (I investigate new innovative materials which are healthier for our environment and society), a part-time teacher (I love a challenge) and an administrator (I like to have everything scheduled and communicated well) - my many roles means I'm good at adapting to different needs in different situations. I used to be a carer and companion for an elderly family friend as well as my grandmother, so not health issues don't phase me and so I'd say I'm very gentle and patient with all species I'm caring for. I do love learning languages, so if your pets don't answer to english, I'll give any a go!

I am combining part-time work and now also studying locally, so I enjoy pet-sitting which is then luckily able to fit around my flexible schedule I also love playing with animals, and as I live near a park, I am able to take dogs there for daily exercise.

I adore cats. I'm a big fan of playtime, whether it's a specific chosen toy, a feathery stick or even just a small piece of paper scrunched into a ball waiting to be chase across the floor. I'm happy to be warm lap for cuddles and naps, and love to help groom. The most pets I've looked after at once is 4 (3 cats and 1 dog) and the oldest cat I've looked after was 16 years old, who required special care and support in finding his little bowl. I did also have a cat who had epilepsy, so please do let me know if your cats have any special care instructions. I've been on a popular dog-sitting site for a couple of years, but had local pet-sitting jobs for much longer.
