Caring Cat Sitting

Hello, my name is Abi and I am huge animal lover. I have never lived without an animal, my first pets were a cat, rabbit and a hamster. My cat was called Trudie, Rabbit was called Peter and finally my beloved hamster was Bruce. Before moving out of my family home I lived with my cat Belle for 12 years, I had the pleasure of living with her from the day she was born 😊

I have always loved animals and from a young age I volunteered at donkey sanctuary’s, this would often end in upset as my mother wouldn’t allow me to take one home with me. My love for volunteering continued into my adulthood where I decided at the age of 22 that I would volunteer by myself in Namibia at an animal sanctuary called Naankuse. Naankuse is a conservation charity dedicated to preserving the landscapes, culture and wildlife of Namibia. Whilst volunteering, I got the opportunity to work along side vets, rangers and animal conservationists. In 2019, I was luckily enough to have the opportunity to volunteer again but this time in South Africa, Port Elizabeth at Kwantu. Kwantu, another wildlife conservation charity is also involved in a feeding programme for a local primary school aimed at stimulating community development and interaction among people. I was lucky enough to visit the school multiple times when volunteering with Kwantu. Teachers reported that most children were attending classes without having consumed a meal, which was negatively impacting their health and education. With the support of the feeding program 150 children are having access to meals every day.

I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and I am currently supporting children to access Equilearn which involves learning and caring for the horses. Animals have a positive impact on people’s mental health and wellbeing. Since moving out of my family home I am missing my cat dearly, therefore, it would it would be a delight to care for your pets when you need it sitter.

Outside of my travels, at home my cat Belle has a heart murmur and a few health niggles now that she is getting older. She has a special diet and medicine so am I confident in dealing with any of your pet's special requirements. I always meet pet owners and their pets so as you can decide if I am the best fit. This also allows owners to tell me all about their pets as well as their likes and dislikes. During my visits I always make sure there is time for cuddles and play. After each visit I will update you with news, photos and videos so you can see how your pet is doing and feel reassured while you are away from home. I have my own transport, so in the unlikely event that your pet needs to visit the vet while you are away I can get them there quickly.

It would be an absolute pleasure to look after and visit your cats whilst you're away. I would be more than happy to fed and offer half an hour of play time. I would always take a picture of your furry friends to provide daily updates.

Before booking I would do an initial visit to meet both yourself and your cat or cats so that they can become familiar with my scent.
