About Me
Experienced and passionate cat-sitter
Hi, I’m Mary :) I’m a 35 year old professional currently working remotely, mainly to fund my cat’s addiction to treats and overpriced toys that she never actually uses!
I’ve always had a cat in my life, since the age of 4 when my family brought home a kitten. She was with us for 18 years and I really don’t remember life before her. Since then I’ve found that everything is better when there’s a cat around. I adopted my own cat, David, whilst living in London. He had been a stray and was quite poorly, but I wanted to give him the best life possible for however long he had left. He sadly passed away in 2021, but left a lasting effect on me; so much so that I have a beautiful tattoo in memory of him.
The cat who now rules the roost in my house is Manchester; a gorgeous 6 year old tuxedo. She’s quite high maintenance and a little anxious, so I’ve found that my extensive previous experience of cat ownership has really helped create a stable and happy life for her.
I appreciate that a cat is a family member, but unfortunately not one that can always accompany us on our travels! I always worried when having to leave any of my cats for a period of time, but having a trusted and knowledgeable sitter made all the difference in the world.
I can promise that your cat will be looked after with the same love and attention that I have given my own cats over the years, for however long I’m needed.
Cuddles are my speciality, but I will always respect a cat’s boundaries and put in the time to get to know them and what they’re happy with.
I tend to spend around 30-45 minutes with your cats, to not only make sure that they’re fed as per your instructions, but also that they can enjoy some play time and/or cuddles as well.
I have a lot of experience with indoor cats, so am more than happy to keep on top of litter box maintenance and cleanliness. I appreciate that indoor cats also need a lot more mental stimulation, so putting the time in with them to play, work with treats etc is something I’m passionate about providing.
Having looked after my cat David, who had FIV and also struggled with pain in his back legs, I am comfortable administering medication if needed.
As your cat sitter I will:
- Arrange a free Meet & Greet to get to know you and your cat
- Provide fresh food and water for your cat daily
- Clean the cat bowls and litter trays
- Enjoy plenty of play time and cuddles
- Send daily photos and updates
