Caring, communicative and loving cat-sitter

Hi there! My name is Khava Janette. I'm a first-class graduate from the University of Bristol. After finishing my degree, I am currently working as a curatorial assistant and editor for the Stradling Collection, a design museum and gallery (stradlingcollection.org). Growing up, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by animals, nurturing a deep love for and connection with them. My great uncle ran an amazing sanctuary for stray dogs and cats, which is where I spent a lot of my time and helped out during summer breaks while I was growing up. I also had the joy of growing up with some very special cats from the age of 5 to 12, which made me first aware of their magical nature. We adopted our first cat when I was very young, who we took care of until she died in 2013. When I was around 12, at my father's home abroad, we took in two stray cats from my great-uncle. This was a formative and profoundly fulfilling experience, especially when one of the cats eventually had kittens. A couple years later, in my mother's home, we fostered a cat who had previously been mistreated by an abusive owner. Caring for this cat taught me a great deal about meeting its unique needs and respecting its boundaries, especially given the trauma it had suffered. Currently, in my mother's home, we have a cat we adopted three years ago who is a cheeky, rambunctious little rascal called Chopi who I love with my whole being! I have looked after many different breeds of cats, with different temperaments. I have endeavoured to approach every creature I've looked after with warmth, a loving attitude and a respect for the owner and their home. I’ve lived in London almost my entire life, and outside of my love for animals, I enjoy reading and dance.

I would strive to embrace any specialised care and support I am able to offer to meet their particular needs. I am excellent at communicating and would make sure we had set a plan in place to ensure you and your cat are as comfortable with my help as possible. References available upon request.
