Hi there, I’m Kara 👋 Originally from Scotland, I’m now living in Sale, South Manchester. I have grown up with cats all my life and am a huge lover of all animals. I am the very happy owner/servant of two beautiful rescue cats. They are called Otto and Roux; after the chefs Michel Roux Jr & Yotam Ottolenghi (an other passion of mine is food! 😊) Professionally, I am a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist with almost 15 years experience and I am currently employed by Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. My primarily role is devoted to patients who require crisis intervention, as such I am very adept to thinking on the spot ensuring the best possible outcome in any situation that’s thrown at me.

I am a kind & honest person with a vocation which demands I conduct myself with integrity in and out of my working hours. I started cat-sitting for others as a hobby many years ago but this does not detract from the devotion, understanding of responsibility nor the love I have for it and those I am supporting. I am privileged to be invited into your home and entrusted with the care of your extended family. I will never take this for granted.

I will do all I can to support you and care for your pet until you are home and reunited with them. I am available 24/7 via mobile and as standard send updates of how your pet is doing with pictures every day (or as frequent as suits you - you’re the boss!).

I adore animals and have personally found the benefit of spending time with them in bettering mental health and overall wellbeing. Animal therapy is an incredible source of joy for me and I only hope I bring your furball(s) a fraction of happiness they will bring to me. I have been caring for a variety of animals, though primarily cats, for over a decade and have gained so much from these experiences; lifelong friends (human & furry) and wonderful memories over the years. I am very understanding of the variety of needs and personalities of cats and fully adhere to instructions provided by you, the owner, to care for your pet as suits them best. I have uploaded some relevant certification to my profile:

• enhanced DBS (extensive police background check)

• this shows a clean record of nil charges, cautions, convictions etc.

• oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous medication administration

• this show competence in performing these roles. As well as this certification I can provide a plethora of testimonies from prior clients showcasing my proficiency and devotion to the care of their pets while they were away, should you require any of these enhanced services.

I will treat your home with the utmost care and respect and am happy to help out with additional wee jobs e.g. watering plants, taking in mail & milk bottles etc to help you out while you’re away.
