About Me
The reason I love cats
I adopted a rescue kitten in the 70's then became a volunteer helping rehome strays. Some had disabilities - three legs/blind/one eyed etc. At that point I was working as a Secretary/Administrator which continued until December 2022 when I finally retired. Me and my husband lost our wonderful Maine Coon Mix Freddy, at 14, in July 2024 - from natural causes - and for the first time in over forty years, we did not have a cat. Our oldest lived to 17. We do have two Standard Poodles who idolised Fred as he did them. It was so strange without a cat and we were lost - until someone we know wanted to rehome their kitten which is now ours...... We're so much happier having dogs AND a cat again.
I'd do whatever is asked, as each cat is different. I'm used to fussy eaters, special diets, keeping cat litter trays clean and making sure cat dishes and surfaces are clean and tidy. If there were any "accidents" the relevant area would be cleaned/disinfected accordingly. I treat all cats as I would my own (and, if they could talk, I'm sure they'd have no complaints!!). One booking, to look after a beautiful indoor cat, included a daily walk around the garden on a cat harness which she loved. She sat by the door each time waiting "to be dressed" then off we went - but she was equally as content when we were back indoors! I spend time playing with the cats, and grooming them if need be - well, anything that the owner requests so that the cat(s) are content and happy while their owner is away.
