About Me
Cat sitter in St Helens
Hi, my name is Jodie. I am 20 years old and working full time as a Projects Administrator. I work in Education. I live in Haydock but I am happy to travel on the way to Warrington as my place of work, meaning areas in Earlestown, Newton and Ashton in Makerfield. I am able to travel further on a weekend.
I am able to visit your fur babies before 8am and after 5pm on weekdays and almost any time on a weekend, depending on availability. I have experience in administrating worming tablets and flea treatments. Most importantly, I also have experience in the disposal of dead animals for those hunter outdoor cats as well as cleaning litter trays for those cosy and comfortable indoor cats. I have dealt with a lot of ups and downs with my cats as for example my previous cat had a tumour (unidentified at the time) and had sadly passed away peacefully as I supported her in her last minutes of life. On the other hand, I have also had experience with kittens as my current Bombay had two litters (5 in one and 4 in the other.) I had to nurture these kittens more intensively within the first 8 weeks, being able to provide comfort to the mother as well as the kittens. I now have two cats which are 6 and 7 years old who are fit and healthy and are outdoor cats. I was able to train my cats to keep safe as I live on a main road as I trained them to use the back door only. Safety and health are a couple of my top priorities in animal care and I am vigilant enough to monitor these.
As I have grown up with cats all my life, I have taken an interest in animal behaviours and attitudes and I am able to adapt my approach depending on their moods. I do have a Turkish Van who really does like her independency so I respect her boundaries and allow her to approach me where she feels comfortable. I have always had a love for animals and have grown up with cats since I was a baby. If I could choose to have more cats I would definitely have many many more!
I would really like to get a start in this occupation as my heart has always sat with animal care but unfortunately I didn't take that route early enough to be able to get the qualifications. Hopefully, this will be a great start to be able to become well established and so I am able to be recognised as the great carer that I am.
I can cater to all different types of cats needs and behaviours, if they want cuddles I’m all arms! If they want space, I’ll give them space! I am all ears though so if there’s a certain schedule your fur baby has then please provide it to ensure both of us are happy. I am happy to groom and brush your fur babies as well as cleaning the litter tray. I am a keen gardener too so I am happy to feed any plants if required.
