About Me
Passionate & Loving Cat Sitter
I grew up out in the country side in Finland, as truly the biggest lover of animals, especially cats. Believe or not, my first word even was ”killa” aka kissa, which means cat in finnish! I was a horseback rider & had horses growing up and we had several dogs but after our dogs passed away, at 11-years-old I carried a kitten in the basket of my bicycle home from our neighbour’s farm and he became the love of my life. Soon we got a second kitten, so I have always grown up with cats. When I moved to London, I had to leave my cats with my family and I miss them terribly everyday. After moving to London I became a mum to rabbits Bernie and Joe, but after taking them to spend the summer in Finland, I had to temporarily leave them to stay with my family as bringing them back to the UK turned out to be difficult. So currently none of my pets are living with me.
As silly as it may sound, I can confidently say I’m somewhat of a ”cat whisperer” - it is even a joke within my family cause there’s not a cat I don’t create a bond with and manage to ”taim”. Growing up in the country side with our neighbours being farmers my life consisted of basically taking care of the entire neighbourhood’s cats & kittens as farmers tend to neglect them. Growing up, it was genuienly the highlight of my day to feed all the cats and find homes for all the neglected cats before winter came.
I understand cat’s body language & quirks incredibly well. I know first-hand how unpreditable cats are and though that makes some afraid of them, I consider that to be the best part - once you learn their language & boundaries, you won’t have any troubles and you’ll be in love.
I have loads of experience taking care of both domestic & farm animals and working at rescues. I completed an exchange student program in Texas and was placed with a family that had a animal rescue ranch. They had dozen dogs & cats including puppies and kittens. My rescue experience didn’t end there either - the past years I have been volunteering at dog & cat rescue in Spain.
As a cat & rabbit mum, I understand how incredibly difficult and stressful leaving your pet is. This in mind, my priority is making sure you can trust that your cat is not only in safe & competent hands, but also is being loved even when you are away!
I could spend hours and hours playing with cats and there’s nothing better than having one to cuddle with in bed or on the couch, but I know very well that not all cats enjoy being cuddled, held or picked up (I have years worth of scars in my hands as a reminder of that..)
When I befriend a new cat, I take time to observe and be ”respectful”, as of course even the friendliest cats have their own triggers.. So I find it important to take time to learn what irritates them, as each cat is their own individual. All in all, I have dealt with all sorts of cat breed and personalities, so I feel confident taking care of every kittie!
