An Irish Med Student with a Diabetic Cat, Cat Sitting in Manchester! 🐈‍⬛🍀🩺

Hi fellow cat enthusiasts! I hope you are all keeping well.

My name is Yasmin and I am a 4th year medical student. I have a lovely 8 year old 'sugar cat' called Oreo. I have experience going back 5 years with cats and, as Oreo is diabetic, I give him twice daily insulin injections and also monitor his blood glucose levels every few days. I have also had pet dogs, a rabbit, fish, and brief experience looking after a bird and snake. I really am happy to care for any animal! As a medical student (training to be a human Dr) I have an understanding of most health conditions and treatments and like to find out how these present in our non-human friends. Also, just to note that I am police checked etc through my university as part of my degree but I do not have a copy of the certificate as it is done internally.

I am happy to look after other diabetic cats, I know how important it is to ensure they get their insulin on time, and I hope you can trust me to offer great care to your beloved cats. I am also happy to carry out light household tasks if you like or I'm likewise just as happy to play and cuddle with your furry (or hairless) friends. I can't imagine anything being too much trouble for me so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions and I will aim to get back to you within a few hours. I know it can be scary to leave your cat with someone new (I'd sure feel a bit anxious about it!) and I'll make sure to keep you updated through texts and photos if you like but again if you have any questions please feel free to reach out and hopefully you and your cat will feel a bit more at ease after my first visit. Every cat is different and if they are anything like Oreo then they will be a bit weary of strangers so I will make sure to give them their space and let them come around to me from a distance if they need to but hopefully we can become good friends after a few visits and a few treats (health conditions dependent of course!).
