Hi, I’m Gemma. I adore cats! I moved from London where I worked in a large animal hospital as a Volunteer Coordinator. I gained lots of experience working with animals through recruiting and training volunteer animal carers for kennels, fostering, veterinary practice, etc.

I am lucky to have had 6 cats of my own over the years, who were all a big part of our family. I have also fostered lots of cat friends along the way.

I currently serve 2 catboys, one who is a failed foster, because after 6 months of fostering for the wonderful Refuge4pets charity, he decided to stay forever. The other was rescued in Romania as a kitten on the side of the road and we had him brought over with a little dog from the amazing charity called ‘Final Stop Rescue’ 🥰.

Having worked with cats for years in the veterinary environment (which involved training others in cat care within the hospital and the home fostering environment) as well as having my own cats, I have gained a good understanding of feline health, welfare, behaviour and needs and I am not at all bothered by cleaning up any mess when needed!

I am well practised in administering medications competently (including injections) due to the training I received at the animal hospital. I am aware of the signs to watch out for if a cat becomes unwell, or is feeling stressed. I love my own cats so much, so I appreciate how important it is that your cat is happy and healthy in my care.

I miss working with animals after leaving my job at the animal hospital to move to Plymouth. I am now working part time with adult and child victims of crime and have time to do some work for my other passion - working with animals - so caring for your cat in my spare time would be purrfect!

I am based in Stoke, in Plymouth and happy to make cat visits within walking distance ideally. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you and making a new cat friend!
