About Me
Proud Cat Dad
Hi there, I’m Joe. I hadn’t been much of a cat person till I met my partner, but I’ve been quickly converted! We’ve lived in different areas of Bristol and have befriended many local cats, but in 2022 decided to get our own.
Babs is now 16, and thriving. We think she’s been blind since birth, but she has taken to our home perfectly. She loves climbing, belly rubs and wailing at 3 AM for food. I’m also quite used to cleaning up little accidents!
Earning the trust of a blind cat means being patient and considerate, and I take that approach with any cat now.
In my professional life I’m a full-time staff nurse; I work shifts, but this often means I’m free over the weekend or odd hours. I also don’t drive so generally looking for walking distance jobs.
We use Cat in a Flat for Babs and have found the service excellent. We’ve had different cat sitters and something that stands out is good timing - Babs has medicine twice a day and can have symptoms without it. Therefore I’d stick to agreed times with any job.
When we are away, having photos and videos of Babs is really important to us. So I’d ensure communication is prompt and photos and videos are sent straight after a visit. I have WhatsApp but no social media.
I’m quite security minded and would ensure your property is secure. Lastly, I love meeting new cats and have mastered many fussing skills since adopting Babs!
