Calm, caring cat sitting with personalised care

Hi, I’m Lucy, a cat lover who works part-time (Headington, Oxford) & studies part-time (Bicester). I have two, very clever (sometimes too clever!), four-legged boys of my own, both just over two years old. One of them was a rescued stray, giving me experience in dealing with misdirected aggression and being adept at building trust. Although they are a bit more grown up now, they are full of energy and need a lot of physical and mental enrichment. Before the boys, we rescued a 14-year-old little lady who taught us a lot about elderly cat care and medication routines. She too required patience and trust building and thrived in a calmer and quieter environment that we were able to provide her. I’ve seen the full range of cat quirks and temperaments, from shy and anxious to mischievous and feisty and I’ve loved them all.

I know from personal experience how hard it can be to leave your cats in someone else’s hands. I also know how often people underestimate just how much attention and stimulation cats actually need.

That’s why I offer more than just a ‘pop in and feed service’ (unless that’s exactly what you want). Whether your cats are sociable or need a bit of coaxing, I’m happy to stay a little longer, give them some company, a proper play session, or just quietly be around until they decide they trust me. I’ve had success winning over even the most suspicious cats just by being present and calm. If your cat is nervous, aggressive, or has a complex personality I am happy to tailor my visits to what works for both of you.

On a practical level, I’m tidy, quiet, respectful, and reliable. I won’t use anything in your home unless agreed, and if you’d like for me to stay a bit longer during a visit, and happy for me to so, I can bring my laptop and quietly study while keeping your cat company (I’m a distance learner, so it fits beautifully into my day).

I’m also happy to water plants or help with other small pets. Nothing major, just the thoughtful touches that make a difference while you’re away.
