About Me
Cuddles & Capers
Hi, I’m Nadia, and I’m the perfect choice for your locally-based cat-sitter.
I'm DBS checked (verified by Cat in a Flat) and certified in pet first aid (certificate viewable on request).
My own former cat, a Maine Coone cross called Echo from the Battersea Cats & Dogs Home, required frequent grooming (see a picture of her incredible fluffiness on my clients page), as well as the routine feeding, litter-cleaning, and occasional medication that any cat requires. When she came home with my partner and me, she was extremely mistrustful and temperamental, having come from a rough living situation and a difficult time in the cattery, but within a few months she would happily curl up on the sofa or under the duvet with me. She would even wait at the front door for me to come home from work. Living near a busy road, we took her outside in a harness with a lead so I am comfortable with this sort of set-up if you have a cat who needs outside time but cannot be allowed to roam freely for whatever reason.
I work from home so I am available for just about any time of day to accommodate your cat’s usual routine. I will gladly send you daily or per-visit photo updates so you can have a stress-free time away knowing that your furry friends are happy and taken care of. Regarding overnight stays, I can rarely agree to more than 3 consecutive nights, but this may be negotiable in exceptional circumstances.
I am also confident with dogs and willing to feed/walk dogs for a negotiable extra fee based on needs, number of dogs etc. I have worked in service dog training kennels, and have 8+ years of dog care experience. Please note, pets other than cats (and other small mammals) are not covered by the insurance provided by Cat in a Flat.
I play great games and, if need be can bring a variety of cat toys with me to visit your cat(s). The infamous laser dot is a frequent favourite, but I can also twitch ribbons, roll balls, and dangle feathers with the best. I also have a game on my phone for cats to play (they bat at moving things on the screen) which some of my furry clients really enjoy. I even made a treat-dispensing toy for one of my regular cats because she was having so much fun trying to get into my treats box.
I've watched bird videos with my clients (one particular cat adores them).
I can stroke and scritch chins as long as your cat is happy for me to do so and I'm more than willing to be climbed/sat/slept on (animals and close personal friends only!). Please let me know how your cat feels about such things as tummy strokes and being picked up. I avoid them unless I know the cat is alright with it, or there's an emergency in which I need to pick the cat up.
I try to make all my visits as close to an hour as possible (minimum 30 minutes, longer visits by arrangement).
If needed, I can put bins out, water plants etc.
