Committed to care

In my professional life, I have 20 years of experience of working with children and adults with special needs and behaviour difficulties. I have worked in various establishments and schools. For last two years, I have been working as Special Needs Nanny with family of three children.

In many ways,I believe, that human's and animal's psychology is very similar. Each animal has got their unique personality and therefore requires personalised care.

Ever since my childhood, we had animals living with us (dogs, cats,rabbits, guinea-pigs, hamsters, birds). Living with animals feels very natural to me. As me and my family now live in small flat in London, we only have two rabbits (Annie and Alex - brother and sister), who are now 8 years old. Although, I can't have my own cats and dogs, this alowes me to care for pets of other people, which I love to do.

As a cat sitter, I always try first to make connection with the owner and learn the cat's daily routine, habits, personality and needs. With that knowledge and understanding of the cat's uniqness, I give the cat space and time to get use to me in their own territory. Before approaching cat or let the cat's curiosity to come and approach me, I make sure that it feels safe and secure around me.

I understand the importance of sticking to the cat's routine as that can bring comfort and reassurance while their owners are away.

I know that human presence and keeping company to a cat might be especially important, spending time with cat is crucial, so the cat doesn't feel lonely and sad.
